The meeting chaired by HE Eng. Yousef Al-Ahmad Al-Raisi, Director of Municipal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of representatives of all Member States. This was to discuss the implications of the emerging Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the current municipal efforts and plans to address the crisis in the GCC States.The meeting discussed the role of the role of the GCC Municipal Ministries in dealing with this virus, and the most prominent challenges faced by the municipal sector. The committee reviewed a number of issues, the most prominent of which was the approval of the results of research and projects winning the GCC prize in the municipal field in its third session for the year 2020. They also emphasized the relevant committees in the member states to continue implementing the strategy of the GCC municipal joint work, and the future directions for strategic urban planning.
