  A memorandum of understanding between the GCC and the UN

GCC- New York

The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the United Nations Signed a Memorandum of understanding on Monday, 17 December 2018, at the UN Headquarters, in New York.  The GCC was represented by, The Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek, and represented the UN, the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Miroslav Jenča.
Dr. Al-Owaishek said that this memorandum of understanding between the two sides will organize consultations in regards to, peaceful settlement of disputes, protection of civilians, effective participation of women, and exchange their experiences in preventive diplomacy, mediation and peace-building.
Dr. Al-Owaishek affirmed that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reflects the keenness of both sides to strengthen and develop their relations in various fields.
