His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the agenda of the 166th Ministerial Meeting included a number of topics that embody the dimensions of Gulf integration and reinforce the axes of Gulf-Regional and International cooperation.
These remarks were made during His Excellency’s speech at the 166th Ministerial Meeting, preparatory to the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the GCC, held today, Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain—Chairman of the current session of the Ministerial Council—with the attendance of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the GCC states.
At the beginning of his speech, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General extended his highest expressions of thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to his wise government, for the gracious hosting of this esteemed meeting in preparation for the convening of the 46th session of the Supreme Council, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He expressed aspirations for further giving and achievement in the blessed journey of the Council during the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the Supreme Council.
He also praised the efforts of His Excellency Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and his prominent role in preparing for the current session, noting his well-known wisdom and precision in follow-up, which will lead to supporting the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain. "We look forward with full confidence to a successful journey during His Excellency's presidency of this esteemed Council," His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi stressed.
His Excellency the GCC Secretary General also expressed his sincere appreciation to His Excellency Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, for the efforts he exerted during his presidency of the previous session of the esteemed Ministerial Council, which contributed to the success of the Council’s meetings and the enhancement of the march of joint Gulf action.
"Today’s decisions and recommendations will add a new building block to the edifice of the blessed GCC journey. The depth and breadth of the agenda clearly reflect the regional and international weight of the GCC and establish the fact that the achievements accomplished by the Council states on the path of Gulf integration—which is the aspiration of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the Council states—are moving steadily in the right direction, consistent with the aspirations and ambitions of the Gulf peoples towards further interconnection and prosperity," His Excellency underlined.
Furthermore, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General reiterated that the General Secretariat of the GCC, with all its personnel, continues to work diligently to implement the supreme directives and move forward in the march of joint Gulf action, to achieve the hoped-for Gulf integration.
In concluding his speech, His Excellency expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of the GCC ministerial and technical committees for their sincere work and effective roles that contributed to bringing views closer, unifying positions, and bolstering cooperation and integration among the Council states in various fields, through coordinating policies and regulations and activating joint agreements, in a manner that embodies a successful model for regional cooperation.
