His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr Stefano Sannino, Director General for Middle East, North Africa and Gulf at the European Commission, today, Friday, October 31, 2025, in the Bahraini capital, Manama. The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi's participation in the 21st session of the Manama Dialogue.
At the beginning of the meeting, both sides underlined the deep cooperation and strategic partnership between the GCC and the European Union (EU). They also discussed several topics of common interest, most notably ways to enhance joint regional and international coordination in order to contribute to achieving security and stability in the region.
Additionally, they exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues. In this context, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi expressed his appreciation for the European Commission's efforts in advancing the peace process for the Palestinian cause, especially concerning the situation in Gaza, as well as its significant support for enhancing security and stability in Syria.
