His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received today, Sunday (June 14, 2026), at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, His Excellency Mr Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs in the State of Qatar and Chairman of the Executive Council of the GCC Customs Union Authority.
The meeting reviewed several key topics, notably the efforts of the GCC Customs Union Authority, joint customs projects, customs union requirements, and the mechanism for co-ordination with relevant government entities across the Council states to implement these joint initiatives.
During the meeting, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi commended the efforts of the Authority’s personnel in advancing joint Gulf action, underlining the significance of doubling efforts and overcoming challenges to complete joint Gulf projects, foremost of which are the requirements of the customs union.
For his part, the Chairman of the General Authority of Customs in the State of Qatar expressed his gratitude and appreciation for His Excellency the Secretary General's continuous support of the Authority’s work and his role in overcoming the challenges it faces.
