His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), conducted a visit to both the GCC Intellectual Property (IP) Training Centre and the GCC Emergency Management Centre today, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the State of Kuwait.
During his visit to the Intellectual Property Training Centre, His Excellency was briefed on the operational mechanisms and efforts exerted to strengthen the intellectual property ecosystem across the GCC states.
These initiatives contribute to supporting innovation and the knowledge economy, protecting intellectual property rights, and fostering an environment conducive to creativity and research and development within the Council’s member states
His Excellency also visited the GCC Emergency Management Centre, where he reviewed the centre’s strategic plans and the mechanisms for coordination and integration among the competent authorities in the GCC states. He was briefed on the centre's procedures for handling various emergencies and crises, highlighting its pivotal role in bolstering Gulf readiness and joint coordination.
These visits fall within the framework of His Excellency's commitment to monitoring the workflow and reviewing the programmes implemented by the various entities and centres affiliated with the GCC General Secretariat.
Mr Albudaiwi affirmed, during his meeting with the personnel of both centres, that the General Secretariat places great importance on supporting its affiliated bodies and empowering them to perform their duties with high efficiency to further the path of joint Gulf action. He concluded by praising the dedicated efforts of the staff in fulfilling their responsibilities.
