His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Her Excellency Ms Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom (UK), Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the British capital, London.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed Gulf-British bilateral links and affirmed that the signing of the Joint Statement concluding the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations embodies a new, deeply rooted era for Gulf-British relations.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments and updates, emphasising the necessity of intensifying international and regional efforts to enhance security and stability.
