His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest possible terms the infiltration of members from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into Bubiyan Island in the State of Kuwait and their planning of hostile acts.
His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi pointed out that these hostile Iranian policies represent a direct threat to the security and stability of the region and constitute a systematic attempt to destabilise regional peace and undermine the foundations of collective security. He emphasised that such actions are in clear violation of the principles of international law, the United Nations (UN) Charter, and the principles of good neighbourliness.
Finally, His Excellency reaffirmed the full support of the GCC member states for the State of Kuwait in all measures it undertakes to maintain its security and stability, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.
