His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), welcomed the decision issued by the Cabinet of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, which requests the Army and security forces to immediately begin enhancing the extension of full state control over the Beirut Governorate and to restrict weapons therein to the legitimate forces alone.
"This decision represents a significant step toward consolidating the sovereignty of the Lebanese state and bolstering its legitimate institutions, thereby leading to the maintenance of security and stability and protecting the safety of citizens and residents," His Excellency stated.
He reaffirmed the GCC's steadfast position in support of the sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, aiming to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people for security, stability, and development.
