General Secretariat – Riyadh

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed the Council’s strongest condemnation and denunciation of the nefarious Iranian attack that targeted infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait. He affirmed that this act of aggression reflects the escalatory approach pursued by Iran and embodies the continuation of its policies aimed at destabilising security and stability in the region.

His Excellency underscored that the targeting of vital facilities and civilian infrastructure constitutes a flagrant and unacceptable violation of all international norms and charters. He pointed out that it clearly contradicts the principles of international law and the values of good neighbourliness, representing a dangerous escalation that would undermine the security and stability of GCC states and damage the stability of global energy markets.

Moreover, His Excellency called upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to halt these repeated Iranian attacks and to put an immediate end to the irresponsible actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.

Furthermore, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's full and unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, underscoring that the Council stands as one rank with them in all measures they take to protect their security, safeguard their sovereignty, and maintain the safety of their vital facilities.
