His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his rejection and condemnation of the irresponsible and unacceptable statements issued by the United States (US) Ambassador to the Israeli occupation government.
These statements included the acceptance of occupation control over lands belonging to Arab states, including the occupied West Bank.
His Excellency the Secretary General emphasised that such statements represent a clear and explicit violation of international and the United Nations charters and treaties, which uphold the sovereignty of states and their full territorial integrity.
His Excellency further pointed out that these irresponsible and unprecedented statements contradict the official stance of the United States and the vision presented by US President Donald Trump, in coordination with regional and international partners, to seek peace and reach a permanent solution to the Palestinian cause, thereby enhancing security and stability in the region and the world.
His Excellency reaffirmed the GCC's steadfast position and commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
