His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the opening of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held today, Friday, April 17, 2026, in Antalya, Republic of Turkey. The forum took place under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey, with the participation of numerous world leaders and senior officials.
At the outset of his participation, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Turkey for the gracious invitation, praising the warm hospitality and excellent organisation, which embodies Turkey's commitment to strengthening bridges of cooperation and dialogue between nations.
His Excellency lauded the significance of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as a high-level international platform that brings together political and intellectual leaders to discuss prominent regional and international issues, explore ways to enhance security and stability, and support joint efforts to address global challenges.
His Excellency underscored that the GCC’s participation in this forum stems from the Council states' keenness to bolster their active presence in international arenas and contribute to shaping collective visions regarding matters of mutual concern.
"This is vital for supporting regional and international security, particularly in light of the recent treacherous Iranian attacks on GCC states and the delicate, sensitive conditions the region is currently experiencing,"His Excellency said, pointing out that such participation strengthens cooperation pathways, strategic partnerships, and joint coordination with various countries to address current challenges and achieve the mutual interests of the GCC states and their partners worldwide.
