His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries held a coordination meeting today, Monday, July 28, 2025 on the sidelines of the high-level ministerial session of the United Nations (UN) Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-state Solution. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the UN in New York.
His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi clarified that this coordination meeting comes as an affirmation of support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative to establish the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-state Solution, as well as to discuss joint efforts aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving international recognition of the State of Palestine, in addition to exchanging views on the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, His Excellency mentioned that during the meeting, Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Foreign Ministers, discussed a number of topics, foremost among them the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, as well as coordination on the issues raised at the UN Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-state Solution.
His Excellency also indicated that Their Highnesses and Excellencies, the Foreign Ministers, discussed the humanitarian developments in the Strip, especially in light of the unprecedented conditions that have led to a severe shortage of humanitarian aid.
This is due to the intransigence and siege by Israeli occupation forces and their use of a policy of starvation against the people in the Gaza Strip, in violation of all international and UN norms, charters, and laws, which has led to the spread of famine and a severe shortage of medical supplies.
"Their Highnesses and Excellencies demanded continued pressure on Israel to open all crossings to enable the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people," His Excellency stressed.
He also affirmed that during the meeting, it was emphasised that all regional and international efforts will be made in cooperation with countries, organisations, and institutions around the world to lift the siege on the brotherly Palestinian people and to bring in all humanitarian and relief aid urgently and without restriction.
