His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Major General Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Balawi, Commander of the Unified Military Command, on the occasion of his assumption of his new position, on Sunday (July 20, 2025) at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the GCC Secretary General congratulated Maj. Gen. Al Balawi on assuming his new duties, wishing him success. He also commended the great efforts of His Excellency Lieutenant General Eid bin Awad Al Shalawi, the former Commander of the Unified Military Command, and his contributions to strengthening joint Gulf military action.
The meeting also discussed and reviewed a number of topics related to joint Gulf military integration, which strengthens the blessed journey of the Cooperation Council and contributes to developing coordination and integration mechanisms between the armed forces of the GCC countries, thus consolidating security and stability in their countries.
