His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the GCC states support all relief and humanitarian efforts to assist the brotherly Yemeni people in overcoming their economic and livelihood challenges, and that the General Secretariat looks forward to hosting the International Conference on Food Security in Yemen in the upcoming period.
This came during a meeting between His Excellency the Secretary General and Major General Aidarous Al Zubaidi, Member of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen and President of the Southern Transitional Council, today, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably the latest challenges and developments in the Republic of Yemen, the security, humanitarian, and livelihood situations, and the GCC's relief efforts in this field.
His Excellency also expressed during the meeting the firm position of the GCC states on reaching a comprehensive political solution that ends the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the three references: the Gulf Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216, in order to achieve security and prosperity for the brotherly Yemeni people.
