His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, attach importance to consolidating the foundations of economic integration among the GCC states, in order to guarantee the achievement of comprehensive development and lasting prosperity for their peoples.
This came during His Excellency's participation in the launch ceremony of the Gulf Common Market media campaign, "Gains of Gulf Citizenship," on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Kuwait City. The event was held on the sidelines of the 123rd meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee in the GCC countries, with the participation of Their Excellencies, Ministers of Finance and Economy of the GCC member states.
At the beginning of his speech, His Excellency affirmed that "today we are reaping one of the fruits of the lofty directives of the founding leaders, and the current leaders, through celebrating a pivotal achievement in the Gulf Common Market project. "This project has been transformed from an ambitious dream into a tangible reality, shaping the features of a solid economic unity and enhancing the pace of growth and prosperity throughout our countries. This project has opened wider horizons for further cooperation and integration, and has directly led to enhancing the well-being of Gulf citizens and enabling them to reap the benefits of unified economic citizenship," His Excellency explained.
"We are moving forward today in this blessed journey with the launch of the +The Entire Gulf is a Homeland+ campaign, which aims to highlight the gains of Gulf citizenship and enhance the sense of shared belonging, relying - after Allah's grace - on the visions of our wise leadership and their firm belief in the unity of destiny and the integration of the future between the countries and peoples of the Council," His Excellency said.
In conclusion, His Excellency the Secretary General called on Their Excellencies to participate in the launch of this campaign and contribute to a moment that will be written in letters of gold in the memory of joint Gulf action, embodying one of the moments of unity of the Gulf identity and harmony of vision towards a shared future.
His Excellency also called for renewing the pledge and commitment to move steadily towards a unified Gulf economy, and to emphasise through it that "our Gulf project is not just an ambition, but a reality embodied by solidarity and joint action,"
