His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, received His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), today, Sunday, November 23, 2025, in the Omani capital, Muscat.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Muscat Mediation Retreat, held as part of the Oslo Forum's series of events, organised by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD), and hosted by the Foreign Ministry of Oman.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Secretary General reiterated his congratulations to the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of its glorious National Day. His Excellency also commended the Sultanate’s efforts in hosting this retreat, noting that it serves as a valuable opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences regarding mediation and peacemaking efforts. He further wished the organisers continued success.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of topics related to joint GCC Action and exchanged views on the latest developments regionally and internationally.
