His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Ambassador Monika Schmutz Kirgöz, Assistant Secretary of State and Head of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Division at the Swiss Foreign Ministry, today, Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the Bahraini capital, Manama. The meeting took place on the sidelines of His Excellency's participation in the 21st Manama Dialogue.
During the meeting, relations between the GCC and the Swiss Confederation were reviewed, and new prospects for joint cooperation were discussed, especially as both sides emphasised the importance of moving forward with the signing of the approved memorandum of understanding between them. Views were also exchanged on the latest regional and international situations and developments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of joint action and supporting international and regional efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and the world.
