Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the inauguration of the 21st Regional Security Summit: The Manama Dialogue.
The event is organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in the Middle East (IISS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, from October 31 to November 2, 2025, in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
During his participation, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General praised the outstanding organisation and the advanced vision embodied by the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain in hosting this international intellectual and political gathering.
"Manama's sustained hosting of this global platform for the 21st consecutive year reflects Bahrain's leading status as a bridge for dialogue and a stimulating environment for formulating solutions to the security and political challenges facing the region and the entire world." His Excellency underlined, adding: "The Manama Dialogue serves as a strategic space for the exchange of visions among decision-makers, experts, and officials, and for crystallising common positions that contribute to engineering an integrated regional security."
Moreover, His Excellency noted the event's role in strengthening the concepts of partnership and strategic alliances, and in effectively dealing with geopolitical developments and cross-border challenges, chief among them energy security, advanced technologies, maritime security, and cybersecurity.
His Excellency also emphasised that the GCC's participation in this international event stems from the member states' belief in the importance of diplomacy and constructive collective dialogue in building a safe and stable environment.
"This enhances development opportunities, safeguards the region's achievements, and reflects the growing role of the GCC states as a force supporting regional stability and a reliable partner on the global stage." His Excellency concluded.
