His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS), today, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in the U.S. capital, Washington. The meeting was held on the sidelines of his participation in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.
During the meeting, they reviewed the relations between the GCC and the OAS and discussed ways to enhance them to serve the mutual interests of both sides.
They also exchanged views on the latest developments in finalising the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish consultations between the GCC General Secretariat and the OAS, and examined a number of future proposals to bolster fruitful cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, His Excellency affirmed the keenness of the GCC member states to open avenues for cooperation and coordination with regional and international organisations and blocs.
He explained that the goal of cooperating with the OAS is to create mutual cooperation to benefit from the expertise of both sides in many areas, in addition to coordinating their views on issues and the latest developments on the international stage.
