His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), extended his sincere congratulations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), for their accession to the Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) Group, stressing that this step is of interest at the international level and has an important indication of the significance and strength of the Council's decisions, in addition to its economic and developmental policies.
HE the Secretary General also stressed that the GCC countries are making great efforts to achieve the goals of sustainable development and develop their economies and that their accession to such huge global economic groups comes within the great and distinguished regional and international efforts undertaken by the GCC countries to communicate with all regional and international organisations to work to ensure International peace and security, and in order to work for the prosperity and development of the peoples of the world and increase efficiency, productivity and competitiveness in international markets.
