His Excellency Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), received His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Tuesday (March 7, 2023) at the headquarters of the General Command of the BDF in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on the occasion of HE the Secretary General's visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HE the Commander-in-Chief started the meeting by congratulating HE Mr. Albudawi on the commencement of his duties as Secretary General of the GCC, wishing him success in performing his tasks in accordance with the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries.
For his part, HE the Secretary General expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to HE the Commander-in-Chief for his congratulations, and to Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries for granting him this great confidence and responsibility, stressing his keenness to accomplish more achievements and gains within the framework of the joint Gulf action at the various regional and international levels.
During the meeting, the means to enhance the blessed journey of the Cooperation Council were discussed, in order to achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the GCC countries, in accordance with the visions and directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries. The officials also exchanged views on several issues related to joint military action, in order to improve the process of military cooperation within the framework of the GCC system.
