Hosted by the Digital Cooperation Organisation, His Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the 2nd General Assembly on Sunday (February 5, 2023) in Riyadh, in the presence of ministers of the member states of the Digital Cooperation Organisation.


During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably strategic plans and initiatives aimed at promoting digital prosperity in all countries, the status of the digital economy and the challenges facing all countries in achieving digital growth and development globally.

On this occasion, HE the Secretary General congratulated the Organisation on its two-year progress towards achieving its goals and the continuation of the dialogue on how to achieve digital prosperity for all, in cooperation with experts in the comprehensive system, wishing them further progress and prosperity, in a manner that meets the empowerment of digital prosperity for all through the acceleration of the overall growth of the digital economy.

Commenting in the same context, HE the Secretary General stressed the great role played by the Digital Cooperation Organisation to highlight the importance of digital development in enabling countries to keep pace with the rapid growth of the digital economy, through progression and innovation, as well as the development of strategies and programmes to promote digital development, in order to provide countries and the business community with the tremendous opportunities created by the rise of the digital economy, and to transform economies with new and promising opportunities.

HE the Secretary General praised the outcomes of the General Assembly meeting, which seeks to encourage digital and economic cooperation between countries of the world, take advantage of digitisation opportunities to achieve their social goals, and accelerate the comprehensive growth of the global digital economy.
