This came on the occasion of the World Refugee Day, which is annually observed on June 20, and on this occasion, and focuses in 2022 on the "Right to Seek Safety," the international community must unite to protect refugees in various parts of the world for what they have suffered as a result of wars, violence, persecutions and disasters that have been witnessed by them, and that it is not possible to help them except by uniting everyone, and in a manner that preserves their dignity and rights.
HE the Secretary General said that the GCC countries have their firm positions to spare no effort to aid refugees in the world and provide health, social, food and relief care for them, through the efforts made by the GCC countries with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and their positive and fruitful impact in helping refugees to face difficult living conditions.
His Excellency also expressed his concern over the noticeable increase in the number of refugees around the world, stressing the sympathy of the GCC countries and their continuous support for everything that would contribute to alleviating the suffering of refugees and helping them, as well as the keenness of the GCC states and their hope that peace will prevail in the whole world, so that the refugees can return to their countries.
