HE Dr Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Ruling Family of the United Arab Emirates, the Government and the Emirati people on the sad demise of HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, who passed away after a life full of giving and contributions in the service of his people, homeland, the Arab countries and Islamic nations.
His Excellency offered his sincere condolences in his name and on behalf of all employees of the GCC General Secretariat as well as the Council's offices and missions, to their Majesties and Highnesses, the Leaders of the GCC member states, and to the honourable Family of Al Nahyan, and the Emirati people as well as the people of all the Council states.
His Excellency the Secretary General recalled the great role of the late Leader and his contributions in supporting and consolidating the progress of the GCC, adding that: "We lost with his passing a prominent leader, regionally and internationally as well as in the Arab World,"
HE Dr Al Hajraf expressed deep sadness and sorrow for this great loss, which grieved the peoples of the GCC, Arab countries and Islamic nations, due to the sincere love, great appreciation and affection they carry for him, owing to the great roles he played pushing the journey of the GCC to new horizons, and his sincere efforts towards supporting the causes of the GCC member states as well as the Arab countries and Islamic nations in order to elevate their status and cement their development process.
Furthermore, His Excellency said that the GCC lost today one of its Leaders, who had great contributions and stances in supporting the process of cooperation among the GCC member states, stating that His Highness's efforts allowed the Council to become a well-established entity that expresses the depth of the strong brotherly relations that brought together the peoples of the GCC throughout history, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest the soul of the deceased in vast paradise and bless the Emirati Ruling Family, and the Emirati and GCC peoples with patience and consolation.
