HE Dr Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) condemned and denounced the Israeli occupation forces' assassination of Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, near Jenin refugee camp, and the injury of another media person, while they were carrying out their journalistic duties.
His Excellency stressed that this heinous crime is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and a blatant infringement of freedom of expression and media, and a new concrete proof of the ugliness of the attacks carried out by the occupation authorities against the brotherly Palestinian people, which require the international community to open an investigation to hold the perpetrators of this ugly crime accountable and prosecute them before international courts.
HE Dr Al Hajraf called on the international community to take the necessary measures to curb the attacks carried out by the occupation authorities against the brotherly Palestinian people, and to provide them with protection and their rights.
His Excellency offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyr and to the government and people of the sisterly State of Palestine, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
