His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Her Excellency Dr Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen, today, Monday (3 August 2026), at the General Secretariat's headquarters in Riyadh.
At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi congratulated Her Excellency the Minister on assuming the portfolio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, wishing her every success in performing her duties.
During the meeting, they officials discussed the firmly established fraternal ties between the GCC and the Republic of Yemen, as well as the latest developments in the country and the ongoing efforts to bolster security and stability, as well as support the pathways of peace and development.
On this occasion, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi underscored the GCC's firm stance supporting all efforts that achieve security and stability in the brotherly Republic of Yemen. He also underlined the Council's continued backing for all humanitarian and relief endeavours aimed at alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people, in coordination with regional and international partners.
