His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), participated in the closing ceremony of the course organised by the Gulf Academy for Leaders and Innovation (GALI) in the United Kingdom, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and a number of senior officials, on Sunday (August 9, 2026) in the United Kingdom.
In his speech, HE the Secretary General affirmed that Their Majesties and Highnesses, the Leaders of the GCC states, attach great importance to GCC youth and place investment in their capabilities, skills development and empowerment at the forefront of priorities, stemming from the firm belief that youth represent the main pillar of the future of the GCC states and the key driver of its development and prosperity journey.
Moreover, His Excellency indicated that the GCC states always seek to provide a supportive environment for the youth, offer them opportunities to acquire knowledge and experience, enhance their capabilities, and transform their ideas and ambitions into initiatives and projects that serve their societies and nations, thereby enabling them to participate effectively in shaping the future and keeping pace with the rapid changes witnessed by the world.
In conclusion, HE the Secretary General expressed his pride in the promising energies, competencies and ambitions of GCC youth, underscoring that investing in them is a direct investment in the future of the GCC and its journey.
He wished the participants in the course success and prosperity, while renewing his gratitude and appreciation to those in charge of the course for their efforts to achieve its desired objectives.
