His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received His Excellency Mr S. Premjith, Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Thursday (July 2, 2026) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, a number of topics of common interest were discussed, most notably relations between the GCC and the Republic of Singapore, as well as ways to enhance and develop them in a manner that achieves the desired objectives.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the efforts being made to update the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the Cooperation Council and the Republic of Singapore in 2008.
The outcomes of the negotiating team, which held its meeting in Singapore in August 2023, were also reviewed. The meeting focused on bolstering relations between the two sides in a way that serves their common interests. The two sides also addressed a number of issues of common interest.
