General Secretariat – Riyadh

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the accompanying targeting of infrastructure and vital installations, which resulted in the injury of a number of armed forces personnel in the State of Kuwait.

"Iran's actions represent an unprecedented escalation and reflect a clear insistence on violating all international rules and norms, demonstrating an unacceptable disregard for the consequences of dragging the region into further tension and instability," His Excellency pointed out.

He further added: "Targeting infrastructure and vital installations does not threaten the targeted countries alone, but directly impacts the security of the entire region." His Excellency called upon the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to ensure the cessation of repeated Iranian attacks and hold those responsible accountable, thereby protecting regional peace and security and preventing the region from sliding into further escalation.

Moreover, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi stressed that the GCC stands as one with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, supporting all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while expressing his wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured personnel of the armed forces in the State of Kuwait.
