His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the incursions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces into Syrian territories, and their targeting of the Quneitra and Daraa governorates with artillery shells, in flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic, international law, and the United Nations (UN) Charter.
"The continuous attacks by the Israeli occupation forces represent a dangerous escalation that would heighten tensions and instability in the region, while undermining regional and international efforts aimed at peace," His Excellency stated, stressing the significance of ensuring and respecting the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and adhering to the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law, thereby contributing to the protection of security and peace in the region.
Furthermore, His Excellency reiterated the GCC's solidarity and stance alongside the Syrian Arab Republic in maintaining its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, firmly rejecting any violations that compromise its sovereignty or threaten its security.
