His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received Her Excellency Ms Luísa Fragoso, the appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Portugal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the General Secretariat’s headquarters in Riyadh.
At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi congratulated Her Excellency Ms Luísa Fragoso on her appointment as the Ambassador of the Republic of Portugal to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing her success in the performance of her new duties.
During the meeting, several topics were discussed, most notably a review of the latest developments regarding the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two sides, which is scheduled to be signed in the coming period.
Both parties underlined that this MoU will contribute to bolstering the GCC-Portuguese ties and serving mutual interests. Additionally, the meeting addressed the most recent developments regionally and internationally.
