His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received a phone call today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from His Excellency Mr Youssef Rajji, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon, to discuss the latest developments and updates in the region.

During the call, they exchanged views on current regional and international developments and the challenges facing the region, which necessitate intensified coordination and joint consultation to enhance security and stability while safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

His Excellency the Lebanese Foreign Minister expressed his country's condemnation of the brutal Iranian attacks targeting GCC states, affirming Lebanon's solidarity with the Council in all measures taken to protect its security and stability. He also expressed rejection of any actions that would destabilise regional security or threaten the safety of its peoples.

For his part, His Excellency Mr Albudaiwi underlined the GCC's firm position in supporting the Lebanese government in all its decisions taken to ensure stability and safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, contributing to the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people for security, development, and prosperity.​
