His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Dr Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lebanon, today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai.
During the meeting, several key topics were discussed, most notably the review of relations between the GCC and Lebanon and ways to further develop and strengthen them to serve mutual interests. The discussions also touched upon the positive developments in Lebanon aimed at achieving greater prosperity and security for the Lebanese people, in addition to addressing the latest regional and international developments.
His Excellency the GCC Secretary General underlined the GCC’s firm positions regarding the Republic of Lebanon, as stated in the Final Statement of the Supreme Council’s 46th Session (December 2025), emphasising the Council's continuous support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
