His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the Houthi militia's attempt to target the Al Madinah region with a ballistic missile, underscoring that this attack represents a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security of the region and the safety of civilians.
His Excellency stressed that the continued violation of the sanctity of the holy sites, and the attempt to target the Al Madinah region, constitute a severe transgression that provokes the sentiments of all Muslims.
He underlined that this necessitates a decisive stance to deter these assaults and put an end to their recurrence, in reverence for the status of the Islamic holy sites and to safeguard their security and the tranquility of their visitors.
Furthermore, His Excellency the Secretary General affirmed the full solidarity of the GCC states with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their support for all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty, underlining that the security of the Kingdom is an indivisible part of the security of the GCC states.
