His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received His Excellency Mr Hans Grundberg, Special Envoy of the United Nations (UN) Secretary General for Yemen, today, Monday, 2 November 2026, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
At the outset of the meeting, they underscored the condemnation of the continued Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Following this, they reviewed the latest developments in the Republic of Yemen and the ongoing efforts to bolster its security and stability.
In this context, His Excellency the Secretary General underscored the GCC's steadfast and firm position in supporting the Republic of Yemen, backing all measures that safeguard its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
He also underlined support for the efforts aimed at achieving security, peace, and stability in order to fulfil the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people for a future characterised by security, a dignified life, development, and prosperity.
Furthermore, they exchanged views on several topics of mutual interest and followed up on the latest updates regionally and internationally.
