His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), received His Excellency Mr Shahin Abdullayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Monday (August 4, 2025) at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Ambassador presented an official letter from His Excellency President Ilham Heydar Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, inviting HE the Secretary General to participate in the World Urban Forum, which will be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan in May 2026, in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
Several topics were also discussed, most notably regional and international issues of common interest, bilateral relations between the GCC countries and Azerbaijan, and ways to strengthen them. They also discussed the latest regional and international issues and developments, and exchanged views on them.
