His Excellency Shaikh Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Shaikh, Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), today, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Shura Council headquarters in Riyadh.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General expressed his sincere appreciation for the great efforts exerted by His Excellency Shaikh Dr Abdullah Al Shaikh in advancing GCC parliamentary work alongside his brothers, Their Excellencies the Speakers of the Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils in the GCC states. He also commended His Excellency’s direct support for the course of joint Gulf action in all its aspects, through his valuable initiatives and extensive experience.
During the meeting, the officials discussed a number of proposals to develop joint cooperation between the General Secretariat and the Saudi Shura Council, which will contribute to bolstering Gulf parliamentary integration and cementing channels of communication between the legislative councils in the GCC states and the GCC General Secretariat, aiming to push them towards broader horizons of Gulf integration, in accordance with the directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC states.
