General Secretariat – Riyadh

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi militia targeting Abha and King Khalid Airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in a number of civilian deaths and injuries.

"Targeting civilian airports and endangering the lives of travellers, personnel, and civilians constitutes a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms. These actions warrant a firm and deterrent international stance to halt the continuation of such practices that threaten regional and international peace and security," His Excellency emphasised.

His Excellency underlined that the GCC member states stand united alongside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing full solidarity in confronting anything that threatens its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents, while fully supporting all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to protect its territory, capabilities, and security.

His Excellency concluded his statement by extending his sincere condolences and profound sympathy to the families of the deceased, wishing the injured a swift recovery.
