His Excellency Dr Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) underlined the Cooperation Council's support for all efforts meant to improve security and stability in Yemen in order to achieve development and peace for the brotherly Yemeni people.
His Excellency the Secretary General's remarks came during a meeting with His Excellency Irish Major General Michael Beary, Head of the UN Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA) and Chairman of the Redeployment Coordination Committee, on Sunday, (December 11, 2022) at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the latest developments with regard to the political endeavours that are related to spreading peace in Yemen through the accomplishment of a peaceful and political solution and the mission's efforts aimed at making effective progress in implementing the Hudaydah Agreement.
For his part, His Excellency the Secretary General of the GCC underscored the active role of the mission in supporting dialogue between the Yemeni parties and seeking ways to reach full implementation of the Hudaydah Agreement, and the relevant Security Council Resolutions. His Excellency the Secretary General expressed appreciation for the role of the mission in easing tensions and reaching political solutions to reduce escalation and overcome challenges to achieve peace and maintain security in Yemen.
