His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), condemned in the strongest terms the Iranian attack targeting the Saudi tanker (SIDR) during its transit through the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the tanker's crew members.
His Excellency affirmed that this Iranian attack constitutes a dangerous escalation, a grave violation of the principles of international law, and a direct threat to the security and safety of international maritime navigation, exposing regional security, stability, and the flow of global trade to grave risks.
Concluding his statement, His Excellency the GCC Secretary General underscored that the GCC member states stand firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in everything that safeguards its security and protects its interests.
