  HE the GCCSG and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Singapore Affirm their Commitment to Enhancing the Strategic relations between the Two Sides, particularly in the Economic, Trade, and Investment Domains

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC),  and His Excellency Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Singapore, affirmed the commitment of the GCC and Singapore to enhance the strategic relations between the two sides, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment domains.

This came during their meeting today, Friday, February 9th, 2024, in Perth, Australia, on the sidelines of the 7th Indian Ocean Conference.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the efforts to update the Free Trade Agreement signed between the Council and the Republic of Singapore in 2008, which aims to enhance the relations between them in a way that serves their common economic and trade interests. They also exchanged views on several international and regional issues on the international stage.
