Page ContentHis Excellency Mr. Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with His Excellency Mr. Hossein Amir Abdullahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Thursday, September 21, 2023, on the sidelines of his participation in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.During the meeting, several topics were discussed, with a key focus on the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran. His Excellency the Secretary General pointed out to the GCC's Ministerial Council's welcome of the steps taken towards implementing the agreement, including the resumption of the duties of the two countries' ambassadors, adding that the Council looks forward to entering a new phase of relations based on common interests and mutual respect, which contributes to the stability and security of the region.
