  HE the GCCSG: The FTA Between the GCC and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is of Great Importance in Serving Mutual Economic and Trade Interests, and Both Sides Look Forward to Progressing in the Agreement Negotiations Ahead of Signing it in Near Future

His Excellency Mr Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the GCC countries and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is of great importance in serving the mutual economic and trade interests between both parties, adding that both sides look forward to making progress in the negotiations of the agreement in order to sign it in the near future.


This came during a telephone conversation between His Excellency and His Excellency Mr Jalil Abbas Jilani, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

His Excellency the Secretary General said that, during their conversation, they reviewed the strong bilateral relations between the GCC and Pakistan, and they discussed ways to continue developing them in various fields.

Moreover, they also exchanged views on ways to enhance mutual cooperation and develop mutual benefits for the interests of both parties, as well as the latest updates on the Free Trade Agreement negotiations between the GCC countries and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
