  HE GCCSG: The GCC Countries Achieved Advanced Positions Internationally in Cyber Security Indicators During the Recent Period, Reflecting the Leading Position of the GCC Countries Among the World's Countries in this Field

His Excellency Mr Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), pointed out that the GCC countries have achieved advanced positions internationally in cyber security indicators during the recent period, reflecting the leading position of the GCC countries among the world's states in this field. 

His Excellency's remarks came during the second meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Cyber Security in the GCC countries, held today, Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the Omani capital, Muscat, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al Maawali,  Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman and Chairman of the current session. Present in the meeting were Their Excellencies the officials responsible for cyber security in the GCC countries. 

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Secretary General of the GCC expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman and Chairman of the current session of the GCC Supreme Counci for hosting this meeting and for the facilitation and support provided by the Sultanate of Oman to ensure the success of the GCC's work, and for the support and attention given by His Majesty and Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries.

He stated in his speech that the remarkable achievements of the Ministerial Committee for Cyber Security in the GCC countries during this year confirm the keenness and high interest in this field and the belief in the significant benefits that will contribute to the security and economy of the GCC countries through integration among the entities concerned with cyber security, in line with the aspirations of His Majesty and Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC countries to reach higher and more advanced ranks.  

He also pointed out that the meeting agenda includes several important topics that will serve as a foundation to support the stakeholders in the cyber security project to enhance integration between them, which will reflect positively  on the peoples of their countries.

It's worth noting that the meeting discussed a number of topics and initiatives related to cooperation between the GCC countries in the field of cybersecurity.
