Page ContentHis Excellency Mr Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed that the Conference on Developing Autism Services Through Innovation and Integration reflects the significant efforts being made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this field, through the construction, consolidation, and awareness-raising for the families of individuals with autism.This came during HE the Secretary General’s attendance at the Conference, which took place in cooperation with the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders at the Prince Sultan Military Medical City in Riyadh, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday (October 4, 2023). The Conference was attended by several dignitaries and featured the participation of a select group of leaders, donors, practitioners, and researchers in the field of special education.Commenting further, His Excellency praised the pioneering efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its wise government in supporting autism spectrum disorder, developing its services, and providing all advanced innovative means to alleviate suffering, activate a rapid response, and form partnerships with leading organisations to enhance the cultural level of society and advocate for the establishment of specialised centres, with the aim of increasing societal awareness about autism and how to deal with it.HE the Secretary General also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society of Autism Families (SAF), for organising this conference, which is considered one of the key conferences that serve the most important segment of society.
