  The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council receives the Turkish Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

HE Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council affirmed the GCC’s keenness to maintain the security and stability of the region and to develop relations with neighboring countries in a way that achieves common interests. Based on respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs, and commiting to the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter based on resolving disputes by peaceful means and not using or threatening by force.
The Secretary General expressed his disapproval of the threats and statements made by some officials in Turkey towards the United Arab Emirates, stressing that the security of the GCC states is indivisible, based on the principle of joint defense within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council. He also stressed the commitment of the Gulf Cooperation Council to maintain Arab national security and reject any external interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries.
This came during the Secretary General meeting on Tuesday, 11 August 2020, at the GCC headquarters, with HE Erdoğan Kök, the Turkish ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 
Attended the meeting, the GCC Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs and Negotiations, Dr. Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Owaishek.
