  The GCC General Secretariat held a workshop on "the GCC Interconnection of Food, Water and Energy from an Economic Perspective in Light of the Corona Pandemic"

The GCC General Secretariat held via visual Communication a workshop entitled "the GCC Interconnection of Food, Water and Energy from an Economic Perspective in Light of the Corona Pandemic" on Wednesday, 8 July 2020. With the participation of more than 40 participants and experts from the GCC states, and representatives of the GCC ministries of Electricity, Water and Energy. 
During the workshop, they discussed The seminar will discusses the close link -with a high degree of reliability- between the GCC water, energy and food sectors and the most important effects and challenges facing these three sectors, and how to deal with them. They also discussed the direct and indirect effects of the (Covid 19) pandemic on the three sectors, the interconnectedness between them, and its future effects on these sectors.
A number of economist speakers participated in the workshop, including; Dr. Khaled Nahar Al-Ruwais, Professor of Agricultural Economics at the College of Food and Agricultural Sciences at King Saud University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prof. Waleed Khalil Zubari, Professor of Water Resources Management at the Arab Gulf University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Dr. Omar Hisham Al-Shihabi, Associate Professor at the Gulf University for Science and Technology in the State of Kuwait.
