  The 26th Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Posts and Telecommunications

The GCC Ministerial Committee for Posts and Telecommunications held visual communication the 26th meeting, through video communication, on Monday 20 July 2020.
The meeting chaired by HE  Walid bin Falah Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of the General Authority for the Telecommunications Regulatory of the United Arab Emirates, and HE the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Naif Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf welcomed the participating delegations wishing them all success.
The meeting discussed many issues related to common aspects of cooperation between member states in the areas of post and telecommunications.
Concerning posts, the meeting reviewed the unified draft law regulating the activities of private companies and institutions working in the field of express mail and parcels.
As for telecommunications, they reviewed the study to reduce the prices of international connections between the GCC states and consumer protection in the field of telecommunications. In addition to a mechanism for settling disputes arising between operators, as well as for preparing a periodic report on the indicators of the telecommunications sector, analysis and monitoring of telecom markets in the GCC states. The meeting also coordinated to avoid mutual interference between the GCC states on mobile networks.
