  The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Calls on the Brothers in Yemen to Unite and Complete the Implementation of the Riyadh Agreement

HE the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, stressed the importance to respond to the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen Declaration, on the necessity of returning the situation in Aden to its previous state. This came after the Transitional Council declare a state of emergency, and the resulting developments of events in the temporary capital (Aden) and some southern governorates of the Republic of Yemen. As well as the need to cancel any step that violates the Riyadh Agreement and work to accelerate its implementation, which represents the framework the two parties unanimously agreed to unite the Yemenis, return the state institutions, and address the threat of terrorism.
The Secretary General expressed his hope that these efforts will result in stopping any escalatory activities or movements, and create the appropriate conditions to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement immediately, including as stipulated the formation of a government of political competencies and conducting its work from the temporary capital (Aden) providing services to the brotherly Yemeni people.  He stressed that this has become more urgent to meet the urgent economic and development challenges, and to address the effects of the torrents and floods that hit Aden, and the risks of the spread of the emerging Corona virus.
Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf called on the Yemeni brothers to unite and prioritize the interests of the state and the Yemeni people. Moreover, achieve the ultimate goal of restoring the state through a political solution, based on the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC), and the Security Council resolution 2216.
